QtWS15- Qt's Web Offering- An Overview, Allan Jensen, The Qt Company

Qt World Summit 2015, OCTOBER 5-7, BERLIN, GERMANY Qt’s Web Offering – An Overview Qt provides several components for integrating or interfacing with web content. With Qt WebEngine we have a very strong offering for HTML5 content that supports many different web technologies. This in particular includes WebRTC, WebGL and WebSockets. However, Qt WebEngine is not the only web related offering that is provided with Qt. There is also a Qt WebView module, which provides a consistent API for native web views and falls back to Qt WebEngine, if a native web view is not available. Qt WebChannel can be used to expose QObjects to any JavaScript context and thereby allows the development of a whole range of hybrid applications. The Qt WebSockets module provides an implementation of the WebSocket protocol, allowing us to communicate with WebSocket services or to implement a WebSocket service using C++ and QML API. In this talk we will provide a quick overview of these components, discuss their functionality and outline some potential use cases for the web-related components and technologies provided by Qt.
