Introduction to Functional Safety & Security, LDRA, {Qt Virtual Tech Con 2020}

There is increasing demand for QT based GUI driven applications in the safety critical sectors, where software development has never been a trivial undertaking. The software development processes laid down by functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 (industry), IEC 62304 (medical), and ISO 26262 (automotive) have always required rigorous implementation. But the security considerations that came with the arrival of the connected car, IoT, and IIoT have taken the demands on development teams to a whole new level. Speaker: Tim Lee, Field Application Engineer, LDRA This session will explain how LDRA’s software verification tools and services can ease the path to standards compliant, safety- and security-critical applications. It will explain the requirement for C++ coding standards, the need for code coverage, and the benefit of unit testing of core application logic. And it will discuss how signals and slots, data flow stubbing, and QT header code can all be handled within LDRA’s proven test environment.
